Venetian blinds are just one of those many items with which you can cover your room with from the outside world and without using the old curtains. Curtains are too old-fashioned and the best way to make any room whether at home or in the office look sleek and stylish is by using these blinds. There are many different types, sizes, styles, materials and shapes of Venetian blinds.

Different Types of Venetian Blinds

As mentioned above, there are different materials to choose from when you would want to purchase Venetian blinds. One of the choices would be the blinds that are made from aluminum. If you want to fully make your room dark especially during the day, aluminum Venetian blinds is your best bet. It allows lesser amount of light to go inside your room. If aluminum sounds too serious for you, you can definitely go for PVC blinds. Those that are made out of PVC are also a lot cheaper if you compare it with aluminum. Since Venetian blinds also vary in size, you can also get PVC mini blinds if you have a smaller room. Another option with PVC blinds would be the horizontal and the PVC vertical blinds depending of course of your needs also. Another choice of material would be the wooden Venetian blinds. The wooden blinds give a cozier feel to any room and are more advisable to use at home than in a professional setting.

Ways to Clean Your Venetian Blinds

Gone are the days of heavy curtains. If before you need to have your curtains dry cleaned or you have to laundry it all by yourself, you should know how hard of a task it is. That is just one difference of curtains from blinds aside from that, blinds are not prone to dust and dirt because they are not made out of cloth and they are very easy to clean. Sometimes it takes a lot longer time before you need to take it down and clean it up.

The bathtub method is one way to clean your blinds. It will require you to use dish detergent or laundry soap. You can also use vinegar that is dissolved in water. You should leave your blinds and soak it in the tub with water so that if ever there are dirt and stains that are not easy to clean, it will be easier to scratch off. You might need an old piece of clothing like a sock or if you have a small rag, you can use it also to wipe in between the slat of each window blind. Before you wipe it, make sure that you dip it in your vinegar or water solution. You can let it dry using a dry cloth or you can simply hand the blinds and let it air dry. Remember to really dry the metal parts of the blinds so that it will not rust. Keep in mind that this method is only for PVC and metal blinds only. For wooden blinds, read the instructions on your manual on how to clean your blinds.
